Appointments are charged at $150 however you will receive a 50% refund if the clinician recommends not proceeding for your safety. Return clients are charged at $140 and if we are unable to remove all wax in one session, a second visit is charged at $75 if this is within one week of the original appointment.
While wax softening drops (cerumenolytics) aren't a requirement, the majority of our clients feel more comfortable using them for 2-3 days prior to their appointment and this usually improves comfort during the micro-suction procedure. We prefer the Clean Ears brand however encourage you to use whatever wax softeners you have on hand or even olive oil.
Wax management is not generally uncomfortable or painful as we avoid touching the structures of the ear however it certainly can feel unusual having someone working in your ear canal and if the wax is stuck to the ear canal or the little hairs in the ear canal you may feel a pulling sensation. Our clinicians are very experienced, will always prioritise your comfort and will pause as many times as needed to ensure a successful removal with minimal discomfort.
We happily see children aged 16+ however are happy to discuss seeing your younger child on a case by case basis. The child does need to be able to reliably sit still and manage the loud suction noise. I have worked with children in the wax management capacity as young as 10 years of age.
You do NOT require a referral to visit Hear Fresh however we are always happy to keep your GP informed of the outcomes of your visit.
Unfortunately wax management is not covered by Medicare or Private Health Insurance.
Currently we can typically see clients within 48 hours to one week but this can change depending on demand. For the day of your appointment, we pride ourselves on running consistently to schedule as we know your time is as precious as ours. While sometimes a short wait is unavoidable (particularly with travel times) you are unlikely to be waiting for an extended time and if we are going to be later than 15 minutes we will phone to update you.
Payment is made upon booking online however on request we will also accept cash on the day.
